If you tend to communicate via email at work, then you know the frustration of having an email go unread. What makes one email get opened before another? Some believe it’s all in the subject line. Below are a few subject headers sure to draw the readers attention to your email first.
Ask a question
Make sure your question is relevant to your audience. If it is, this can be a great way to grab someone’s attention. For example, if you are running a health club you might ask, “How would you like to lose 5 lbs this month?”
Be straight forward
Sometimes the best tactic is just to say exactly what you want the reader to know. So, if you’re having a sale your subject could read, “50% off sale this Saturday.” This approach works especially well if you’re sending a newsletter.
Get personal
The more you can make each contact feel you’re speaking directly to them, the more effective your communication will be. Whatever style of subject line you use, you can make it personal by using the word “you.”
Another effective way of communication is through internet fax! It’s quick, it’s efficient, and it’s easy to manage. Contact GoFaxer today for more information.

Nobody can argue that communication is one of, if not the, most important factor in business. The next would be the efficiency and seamlessness of that communication. One important component of a businesses communication would have to be the office fax. Considering this fact, wouldn’t it be important for that component to be as efficient and reliable as possible? For this reason, more and more companies are replacing their fax machines with online faxing services.
Internet Fax is simply using the Internet and your email system to send and receive faxes, anywhere anytime. It is mobile, paperless, efficient and you won’t get any busy signals. Plus, there is no need for a second phone line. This extremely useful for companies in remote locations, or for employees who work off-site. In addition, you save yourself the costs of paper and a second phone line.
Internet faxes are private and secure with SSL and PGP encryption. Most if not all companies are compliant with such privacy regulations as Gramm-Leach-Bliley & HIPAA in the United States and PIPEDA in Canada. Your faxes sent and received via email can be protected through PGP encryption.
GoFaxer can help you with all of your internet fax needs. Contact GoFaxer today for more information.

From home to the office, everyone is looking for more ways to become more eco-friendly. Whether you’re a believer in global warming or not, you can’t deny that green technology just makes sense, money sense. Many entrepreneurs are turning to green technology to save money in the long run. Yes, some if not most of these ideas to have higher upfront
costs. However, in the long run they can save you an immense amount of cash. Plus, you’re doing your part for the environment, what could be better than that! Here are few ideas to green up your home office or business:
Save Power
Did you know that by replacing your incandescent bulbs with compact fluorescents you’ll be using approximately 75% less electricity? Well it’s true! Also try adding light sensors so that the lights are only on when there is not enough sunlight to light the place. You can also save up to $750 per year by turning off your computers at night( This figure is based on a 10 computer office, your savings can be even higher if your office is larger!).
For those of you in the process of constructing your new office building, go geothermal. A geothermal system can save a family of 4 in a 1400 sq. ft. house as much as $900 a year. Can you imagine how much it could save your business!
Go Paperless
Everywhere I turn in my office I see recycling bins. Don’t get me wrong, recycling is great! But, how much of that paper really needed to be recycled? I get the feeling sometimes that individuals in an office setting don’t see anything wrong with printing out reams of paper as long as they dump them in the recycling bin once they are done with them. A better solution would be to have the documents in an electronic file so they would not have to be printed. Companies could save themselves mailing costs, paper costs, ink costs, printer, etc. just by going paperless. Employees can participate in automatic deposits, faxes can be emailed along with correspondence, and documents can be made into electronic files. Not only does this save a company money, but it makes these processes much more quick and efficient.
These are just a few of many ideas on how to make your office greener. Contact GoFaxer today to learn how to set up internet faxing in your office.

It is a tempting prospect: taking advantage of the new, technology-based offerings of the economy to start your own home-based business. Doing so frees you of ties to the corporate world and gives you the power to work from the comfort of your own home. Never before in history has such a plan been so feasible for so many American workers.
However, taking on this challenge is a daunting task. Besides numerous legal and accoutning wranglings, the new entrepeneur must consider the logistics of setting up and maintaining a home office. Creating a home office requires considerable investment in equipmement, space, and resources. Before proceeding with constructing a home office, you should consider what equipment and services you will need.
GoFaxer knows home offices require faxing capability. When purchasing a full-blown fax machine, along with a nasty supplemental charge for monthly phone service, is not within your budget, you should consider GoFaxer’s online service. It is made for home-based businesses seeking to provide fax services for clients without incurring the physical space and financial constraints of a traditional fax machine.

There’s a million small bits of advice that you’re going to need when creating your own startup. Sometimes, legally, you’re required to have a board of directors. But even if you’re not, Carolyn Kepcher advises that you do it anyway.
She says:
“Assemble a group of knowledgeable friends, colleagues and associates who are willing to meet with you from time to time to look at your plans, review your decisions and act as general advisers to your enterprise.”
What amazing advice. I love this.
For example, you might not be aware of the fact that you can use Internet fax instead of a fax machine, but someone on your board of advisers, might. You might not know that you can save money using Gmail instead of buying Microsoft Outlook. You might be thinking of renting a somewhat expensive property, when one of your board knows someone with something cheaper.
The list of potential good advice to be given by a group of knowledgeable business people goes on and on. Don’t feel like you must rely on your knowledge and understanding alone. There’s so many people out there willing to help you build your enterprise. You just need to ask. And the results can be miraculous.

I just read a fascinating article that seems to fit my view of the future. Starting in the late 40’s, a thing called suburbia sprung up all over America. This movement peaked several years ago in the last gasp of pleasure of the housing bubble, as traditional homes became McMansions.
But Mara Der Hovanesian interviews author James Howard Kunstler who claims that within five years, America is going to see serious problems from this development. We’re already seeing the beginnings of it with the home crisis. He calls suburban sprawl, “the greatest misallocation of resources the world has ever known.”
Why did suburbia start? We had cheap oil and cheap land. Why not? But with oil prices escalating, it’s just not practical anymore for people to expect life on the grand size for middle America.
So what does this mean for the young and ambitious businessperson trying to create the next greatest company in America, when America may be getting far less affluent in the coming years?
It means that businesses are going to have to start thinking small. The fact is that there are technologies out there that allow us to run very efficient operations and lives, without all of the bulky space and machinery. If you’re running a business, you don’t need a fax machine. You just need an Internet connection, with Internet fax, and you’re in business.

I’m sure that Carolyn Kepcher, the famous star of the Donal Trump’s “The Office,” would never be caught waiting at a fax machine. Such antiquated practices have been replaced by Internet faxing; I’m sure she’d be the
She’s got some great advice to those of you creating a startup. She’s a strong proponent of networking and creating relationships. But she gives a caution.
Like dating you don’t want to go in too strong, scaring away the potential relationship. You want to give the relationship time to grow before approaching the person with serious commitments. She says:
“When introduced to somebody who might be able to help you, start a dialogue, get to know the person and help him or her get to know you a bit. Only when a relationship is formed should you begin to talk about your business ideas, pose questions or ask for help. If you jump in too quickly, you may turn the person off and lose his/her help altogether.”
She also points out that this person might in fact be a potential competitor. You don’t want to reveal information that they could use to their benefit, leaving you out of the loop.

A lot of times people start their own small business might understand technology really well. They might know to use Internet fax instead of an old-fashioned fax machine. They might now how to make the right purchases that save them money. They might understand the best software to use for their business purposes. But they may really struggle at working with other people.
But there is perhaps no greater skill needed for an entrepreneur than working with other individuals. Carlolyn Kepcher, the former board member from Donald Trump’s “The Apprentice” says:
“Relationships are everything. No matter who you speak to, who you worked for, who worked for you — it is imperative that you don’t burn bridges . . . you never know when you may need to reach out to someone from your past.”
But you might say to me, “Wade, I’m not good at this.” My response: “Get good at it.”
Being good with people doesn’t require you to be a dynamic sales manager type. You just need to care for people, be sensitive to other people’s feelings, and make it a business priority to develop the right business relationships.
Being good at creating business relationships, along with smart and savvy understanding of technology and marketing will make your small business soar. Without attention to people, you’re likely to be very limited in your growth potential.
