Fax to Email: When to Use an Attachment
When should you send an attachment and when you should include the info in the body of your email.
The general rule of thumb with email is that you want to keep it as short and concise as possible. So if the info you’re sending is a quick graph or a small paragraph of text, feel free to include it in the body of the email. But if it’s more than that, you want to include it as an attachment.
I’m not a big fan of including other emails as attachments, but that’s a subjective decision. I like being able to see every email in the chain below the main message. If you’re making reference to an email that may be pertinent but not directly, feel free to attach it.
One of the best examples of using an attachment is with fax to email service like gofaxer. When you get your fax it will come in the form of an attachment in your email inbox.
At the end of the day, we should all remember that in this highly efficient world of digital information, the emails that we send represent us. They’re our image. So make them look good. Make them represent the highly professional person that you are trying to be.
