Internet Fax: Innovation Through Online Service
One of the things that impresses me the most about GoFaxer’s Internet fax service is the fact that people don’t have to download software to use it. It’s an entirely online service. This fits my understanding of where the entire industry is going.
Microsoft is really nervous these days about Google’s dominance on the web. They are offering services that once required software, but are now free online through Google. For example, most businesses use Microsoft Office to do most of their day-to-day business work. Microsoft Outlook has become the preeminent email application.
But setting up Microsoft Outlook for each of your employees costs your business thousands of dollars. More and more small business owners feel like this isn’t worth it. Many are switching to Gmail, finding it perfectly fine to do business with an online application. With Google consistently offering new online alternatives to software, you can understand Microsoft’s apprehension.
GoFaxer represents this same movement toward online services. Switching to Internet fax once required you to purchase and download software, meaning you could only use the service with your own computer. But GoFaxer let’s you use the service anywhere that you have a computer and an Internet connection.
