While many aspects of business have moved online, one aspect that has had trouble integrating is online availability. If you are a mechanic, hairstylist, or any business that relies on scheduling appointments for your business you’re probably already aware of this. Luckily, there are some online services that may be able to help you with your scheduling needs.
USA Today’s small biz writer Kim Komando points out some new online services that might change that, including HourTown, GenBook and BookingAngel.
Writes Komando:
Sure, your website can provide information about your business. But it can’t make a sale. That’s because your clients can’t book appointments online. Your clients still must call or e-mail to schedule an appointment. And you probably can’t handle client requests 24/7. This means wasted time calling back clients for scheduling.
New sites are offering solutions to the problem. They make it possible for clients to schedule appointments online. You can eliminate the back-and-forth and reduce the time spent on scheduling. And your clients will appreciate the simplicity, too.
The sites are definitely worth visiting if scheduling is a large part of your business.
Another site worth visiting is GoFaxer. With GoFaxer you can receive all of your faxes online. Contact GoFaxer today for more information.

Email is an essential part of business communication today. It would be impossible for most companies to operate without it. Whether you’re a small or large company, email is most likely used in everyday business operations. However, the size of your company may determine whether you should host your email internally or externally.
Hosting e-mail internally does have significant costs associated with maintaining the e-mail servers, either with internal technical staff or a support vendor. You need to constantly install patches and maintain backups, as well as plan for disaster recovery. A small business with a limited to non-existent IT department often would have to rely on one internal person–who could get sick, quit or take a vacation–or an offsite consultant. At the same time, hosting internally does allow you to have more control.
However, hosting e-mail or applications externally allows you to transfer many of these costs and maintenance problems to a hosting vendor. Although, you then have to do your homework on that firm. When you use hosted e-mail, you’re dependent on both your vendor and your network connection. You also have to be comfortable having your data stored on someone else’s hardware. Therefore, if you have strict data security requirements, hosting your e-mail externally won’t work for you. Another issued with e-mail and applications hosting companies is that they have many restrictions on attachment sizes and storage space.
However you decide to host your email, you can always receive your faxes via your email using email fax from GoFaxer. Contact GoFaxer today for more information.

Did you know that it takes up 50% more of your time switching between tasks, rather than getting it all done at one time.
I just read an incredible article at Businessweek.com by Toddi Gutner that outlines some amazing tips for keeping your day time efficient. It seems like sometimes we get so caught up in all of the distractions of the day, that we never actually get anything productive done. This is due to the previously mentioned statistic, that every time we stop and start a project, we’re wasting time. It’s much better to just get the whole thing done in one swoop.
Beyond using really great software and systems like Internet fax, there are some practical bits of advice that this article lays out.
Referring to Laura Stack, a productivity consultant, Gutner says that “every document and e-mail you receive should be discarded, delegated, done, dated (when you will do it), drawered (immediately filed), or deterred (from returning to you again and again). The goal is to handle each piece of paper or e-mail only once.”
Gutner also suggests that you create a time budget. Record how you spend your time for several days, including tasks you often put off, like organizing your email inbox. Then block out your time every day giving projects the time that they deserve but rarely get.
It’s great and timely advice for an ever hectic world.
