There’s always something to muck up the day, right? No matter how well you’ve scheduled your day, how good you are at keeping yourself on-track and taking care of your to-do list at the office, things happen to interrupt that great roll you’re on and to threaten to throw the whole day awry. One such troublemaker is the sudden need for a fax.
Sure, we can see how it might seem pretty benign, not too troublesome, needing to fax something out to a client or colleague, but we all know that something as simple as sending or receiving a fax via a fax machine can turn into a total nightmare. Paper can jam, toner can somehow end up all over the front of your clothes (inevitably your best white shirt, right before a meeting with a client), or the machine could simply decide – like a small child – it doesn’t want to and so it won’t. But an email fax is not going to pull any stunts like that on you.
No, instead you’ll find that an email fax will keep your business day on track. A few clicks of your mouse and hit that “send” button and you’ve faxed that document off in less than 30 seconds…that document that the fax machine is still trying to decide if it wants to send or not. In addition, with the email fax service, you’re getting reliability, affordability, and flexibility. Not in the office? You can still send out and receive faxes by email. What an improvement over having to find a public fax machine or beg a hotel clerk to let you “borrow” the fax machine for a few minutes.

When should you send an attachment and when you should include the info in the body of your email.
The general rule of thumb with email is that you want to keep it as short and concise as possible. So if the info you’re sending is a quick graph or a small paragraph of text, feel free to include it in the body of the email. But if it’s more than that, you want to include it as an attachment.
I’m not a big fan of including other emails as attachments, but that’s a subjective decision. I like being able to see every email in the chain below the main message. If you’re making reference to an email that may be pertinent but not directly, feel free to attach it.
One of the best examples of using an attachment is with fax to email service like gofaxer. When you get your fax it will come in the form of an attachment in your email inbox.
At the end of the day, we should all remember that in this highly efficient world of digital information, the emails that we send represent us. They’re our image. So make them look good. Make them represent the highly professional person that you are trying to be.
