When Kevin received this phone call from his sales manager, his first thought was, “Not on my honeymoon!” He had hoped to have two weeks without worrying about work. But it seemed that work had intruded on his vacation.
But then he realized that it was his sales job that allowed him the financial means for being able to pay for this honeymoon. And this job would be essential for his continued financial security. So he knew that he needed to buck up and fix this problem.
Kevin asked Nancy to email him the problematic spreadsheet.
Kevin and Cassandra went into the nearest shop, a jewelry store, and asked the salesman where the nearest Internet café was. He pointed down the street a block to a little shop upstairs. They sat down at the nearest PC and he accessed his email account through the Internet. Finding the document in his inbox, he opened it and proceeded to analyze the numbers. Finding the problem quickly, he fixed the discrepancy. He now had to fax it to the Detroit store. Fax was not a service provided in the Internet café. But this was not going to be a problem for Kevin. He accessed his GoFaxer account and sent the document through their fax to email service.
Within 10 minutes the emergency was averted. Kevin returned to his honeymoon, still in love, and still employed.
