Increasing numbers of employees are pursuing, or showing a willingness to pursue, the opportunity to work from home more often than traveling to an office to work. This is true particularly with employees in the information technology sector of a company, whose work is almost entirely web-based. In some cases, working from home is paired with a pay raise or stipend from the employer to represent money saved on space and energy costs by having less workers to ‘house’ during the day.
In industries that require that workers be present, some companies are offering arrangements of shorter work weeks, with four ten-hour days rather than five eight-hour days. No matter how you do it, the fewer trips to the office, and the fewer people at work, the more affordable it is to keep that office powered. But working from home does require some intentional decisions in order to keep the process efficient enough to be worth it.
Internet faxing has become highly popular with many businesses because of its economic use of both space and electricity. The efficiency of a product like GoFaxer is essential if you have employees working remotely. With GoFaxer email fax, you don’t need to be in the same space as the actual fax machine to send and receive faxes. GoFaxer lets you keep your existing fax number while sending faxes from anywhere with an internet connection.

Working from home sounds like everyone’s dream job. No more working nine to five, or having to ask permission to take time of for a child’s school event. However, working from home can have it’s challenges as well. There are ways of being able to balance home life with your home business with a little planning.
An essential factor of having a home based business is establishing a structure. Yes, it is nice to not have to be at the office by eight. However, if you don’t structure your home work schedule you’ll run the risk of getting behind in your work. Set up hours when you will only be available for work. This way family and friends know that just because you are home doesn’t mean you are available to chat on the phone.
On that note, just because you work from home does not mean that now you have more time to tend to the kids or the housework. If you start to feel yourself get overwhelmed with running your own company, and the household chores, get help. Hire a nanny or a housekeeper to keep things in line while you are working. This way the children are still close by, and you are getting your work done!
Just like it’s a challenge to know when to turn away from personal issues like cleaning the house, it can also be a challenge to “leave work” when you work from home. Remember that it is just as important to take time away from work to spend with your family as it is to take time away from family to spend on work. That may be one of the major reasons you started your own home business to begin with. So remember to shut off the computer every once in a while and spend some time with the kids.
A home business is just like any other business in which communication is extremely important. With that in mind, what better way to communicate than via fax, better yet, email fax. GoFaxer can deliver your faxes directly to your email box. It’s as simple as that. With this convenient service, you can manage all of your faxes online! Contact GoFaxer today for more information.

I like to work. But I don’t like working in an office. It feels too official. Working from home makes me feel like it’s my choice to work, rather than a decision made for me by an employer or circumstance. With new technologies that let you email and fax via the Internet, sometimes we don’t really need to go into the office.
Some people like the sociality of working in an office. They like chatting at the copy machine. They like figuring out new ways to waste their time until they can clock out. But if you’re considering making the move to a job from home, here’s some reasons to consider it:
You don’t have to do the whole, I’m getting up, taking a shower, making myself look professional thing when you wake up. You can get out of bed, poor yourself some granola with skim milk and just start working. And if you like work this isn’t a bad thing. You can get a jump start, end early and do what you like.
No commuting!
You can do your laundry gradually during the day while you work. You don’t have to spend precious Saturdays or evenings doing it.
You can actually be there when the important package is delivered or the cable guy finally shows up.
Of course, it takes a certain discipline to work from home. It might be easier for some to be distracted. But if you can swing it and still be productive, I highly recommend it.
